'Dancing Dave' Birthday Card.

Hello! Hope everyone is OK. The weather outside the window for the past few days reminded me more of autumn season than summer with loads and loads of rain and wind! So been trying to snuggle at home with a warm cup of beverage and sitting cozy in the bed. Unfortunately my kitty cat has been poorly and for the past 3 days had been receiving an ongoing treatment from the Vet.

Here at Oddball Stamps we are having a monthly challenge reminder for the 'Die Cuts' challenge. There is still time to take part as the challenge will not close until middle of August.

I made this lovable and cute robot card for a family members Birthday and tried making it more masculine. Not sure I succeeded to full extend but I love it.  If you fancy having a go at creating similar project using this whimsical digital stamp from sweet Lizzy Love you can find him here

I used Mojo Mondays challenge for the layout of the card but had only trimmed the front page.  wanted the card to be quite simple so only used papers from one collection. Even the vines are die cutted from the same paper pack. At the end I just added a blue flower and finished off the card.

I am entering my card into following challenges:

Mojo Monday - sketch challenge 408
The Craft Barn Weekly challenge - clean and simple.

Take care everyone and let's hope we will have a sunny day here in UK today !

Elsa the piggy card.

So I just looked at Oddball Art Stamps etsy store and had instantly fallen in love with this little piggy. I mean how can you not? If you are interested you can purchase her  here.

I used several techniques to finish this creation starting with embossing hearts background. Unfortunately the powder was quite old and with some remnants of other colours hence the lack of clear image. I coloured Elsa with my Promarkers using shades of pink:  Antique pink, Baby pink, Dusky pink and Pale blossom. For the hooves I used Tan and Sunkissed pink. For the bow I used Duck egg and Cadet Blue and the little heart with Poppy and Red. I used some white marker to highlight some areas and the whole image was treated with clear Wink of Stella.

I used Ranger's Peeled Pain distress ink to colour the top part of the background as I based my layout on Mojo Monday's sketch challenge. With a little damp paper towel I wiped the excess of the embossed hearts. I cut the strip and the bottom of the background out of pattern paper and adhered to the card. I mounted the image on another dark cardstock attaching it to the rest of the card. The flowers were also coloured with Promarkers and the highlights and shimmer were added before glueing them into the card. The last step was to add the rhinestones to the flowers and the card was ready.

Here are the challenges I am putting this card into:

Hope you enjoy the card as much as I had fun making it!

Starla Jones mixed media page.

Recently we received bad news concerning a passing of a close family member. I have been so upset I felt no joy in crafting. But now I decided there was a time to pick myself up and this sentiment made my smile.

Jump to Oddball Stamps blog page and take a look at this months challenge: Die Cuts.

I used Dylusion sprays for the background with ghost masking technique. Afterwards added gold stain paint by Ranger to create the the brick effect . Afterwards added the digi stamp ( I used my pro markers to colour the image) with the stars die cutting them and glueing into the paper. Unfortunately I had not planned my sentiment too well and had to squeeze the words for the quote. At the end I used wink of Stella to add a bit of shimmer to the page.

I used a digi stamp from the amazing Lizzy Love. You can find this stamp here.  Have a loot at her amazing Oddball Arts Stamp shop on Etsy.

I am adding this page to the following challenges.
